Waking into whitespace

So here we are again.

I've finally got my lazy butt off of something, and back into my chair. For the past three days, i have sacrificed my sleep to the gods of the cyber world, where little green men wield serifs and randomly hurl insults in the form of error messages. Yep, I'm back into the big bad world of 3D.

But it gets a little more interesting since I've shifted my focus to the world of Droids. To be a little less cryptic, I'm now trying to develop a 3D framework for the Android platform. Not a particularly easy task, but nonetheless I shall persevere(Despite my University's best efforts to hold me back).

For starters I've been meddling around with some code on the Android Developer blog site. Its regarding multi touch supporting phones.

Almost all android based devices now have multi touch support and it makes for a rather interesting situation. I can basically use one side of my UI as a touch interface for rotating say a cube in 3d space and the other side can be used to perform a series of gestures that will ultimately carve runes into the cube. Talk about crafting your own items huh?

I know its not really 3D as yet, but I assure you theres a lot more to come.... :)

Heres a link to the article I read on multi touch. It allows you to perform scaling using the scaling gesture. Pretty neat!
